Beginner's Yoga School, Weekend Intensive


Our signature workshop series is for ladies wishing to start a new yoga practice or those wishing to increase their knowledge on the basics of yoga.

Students will go through two 4-hour weekend sessions of beginner's yoga training in a workshop setting.
Workshops will be open for lecture, practice, and hands-on assistance, to help students internalize what they learn and develop a practice of their own. All equipment is provided for use during this workshop series, however, students may wish to bring their own mat/towel.

Training times are 3-7pm on Sat./Sun., 9/21 & 9/22. Light refreshments and bottled water, provided with break. Training includes a 1 hour practice class with hands-on assistance & guidance from trainers.

Session 1:
- Yoga Basics
Students will learn yoga etiquette, lingo, attire, props, and yoga styles in session 1.
- Students can also expect to learn and practice common warm-up sequences as well as foundational and essential yoga poses.
- Breath & Bhandas
Learn breathing techniques and internal "locks", also known as bandhas that increase balance, stability and strengthen core. Students will learn a variety a common breathing techniques and the 3 main bandhas that will help to deepen their body awareness and their practice.

Session 2:
- Vinyasas
Students will learn and practice three poses that make up the modern vinyasa. Students can also expect to learn how to sync breath into the flowing movement of these 3 poses as well as incorporate the use of bandhas.
- Hips & Warriors
Students will learn the common warrior poses in yoga classes, including; Warrior 1, 2, 3. A variety of seated hip opening poses will also be taught and practiced in this class, including how to incorporate props.
- Inversions & Back bends
Inversions are so much more than headstands and handstands. There are several poses in yoga that are considered inversions. In this class, students will learn to find the right inversion that aligns with their personal practice. Whether you are laying against a wall with your legs up the wall, or learning how to do a headstand, this class aims to remove fear and help students discover which inversion is for them.
- Students will gain knowledge and receive hands-on assistance in both sessions and will leave feeling confident and ready to take on a new and transforming lifestyle!
